Arlington, TX (PRWEB) May 3, 2006 -– Judy Jackson Nance-Berwick, mother of four, has created a new look for hip-again t-shirts. Using her kit, named LaceUpYourTee, young women can transform a boxy t-shirt already in their closet into a form-fitted, shape-revealing shirt with no sewing.
The kit, found for sale at www.laceupyourtee.com, consists of eyelet tape, fabric glue, lacing, both printed instructions and an instructional DVD and an inspirational message in a limited edition cosmetic purse. There are two colors of eyelet tape, black and white, and five choices of ribbon/lacing. The kit comes in three sizes: 6, 12 and 18 inches.
The consumer glues two strips of eyelet tape on the back of their shirt, laces the ribbon through the eyelets like a shoelace and pulls the laces tight bringing the shirt together. This creates a tight-to-the-body look to a formally boxy t-shirt. Also included in the kit and on the website are ideas for consumers to alter the neck, sleeves and hem of their shirts as desired.
"I want to give women the freedom to personalize their favorite t-shirts," says Nance-Berwick, owner and creator of LaceUpYourTee.com. "Looking feminine and sexy in a t-shirt has been hard in the past. The LaceUpYourTee.com kit takes a generic shirt and transforms it into a fabulous look for women of all sizes."
Nance-Berwick created the idea when shopping for rock and roll t-shirts for her 13 year old son. "I found all of these t-shirts with the band logos of my favorite bands from the seventies and today's bands that I really get into. I would have loved to wear them, but I don't wear formless, baggy shirts. I began to try to figure out how to pull them tight to my body without sewing or damaging the shirts. After many false starts and lots of products that didn't work, I found the perfect combination of things and the right application."
Being a mother of four children ranging in ages 3 to 16, Nance-Berwick found taking the risk of creating a company and product from scratch daunting. She continues, "I just quit my dead-end, frustrating job and took a chance. My sister is taking care of the business side and I am focused on spreading the word. It's definitely a family affair. My mother even gave us a little seed money and all my friends have helped out. We all believe in ourselves and in this product. Now, we have to work hard and have faith."
