Telecommunications Industry Association to Host GLOBALCOMM Executive Summit to Bring Together Top Public, Private Sector C-Level Executives, Bob Stephan of DHS to give Information Security Compliance Keynote Address

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) will hold an Executive Summit at GLOBALCOMM(TM) at McCormick Place in Chicago on June 4 at 1:30 p.m. in conjunction with the Internet Security Alliance (ISAlliance). The Summit will bring C-level executives from the nation's largest municipalities and the world's largest organizations together to discuss information security compliance and disaster preparation.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection Bob Stephan is slated to give the Information Security Compliance Keynote Address at the Summit.

City of Chicago Chief Information Officer Hardik Bhatt will serve as host for the Executive Summit, while Ellen K. Barry, Chief Information Officer of the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, will serve as chair of the event.

Among the Summit participants confirmed are leaders from industry, associations, academia and government, including representatives from Alston and Bird, the American Bar Association, AT&T, BT, Carnegie Mellon University, the E9-1-1 Institute, the Internet Security Alliance, Kirkpatrick and Lockhart, Motorola, Raytheon, Russell Financial Services, Tata Consulting Services, VeriSign and Whilehelm Systems.

"The Executive Summit was organized to highlight the challenges industry faces in complying with the demands of new security requirements as well case studies from service providers and enterprises describing successful strategies for coping with this challenging environment," said TIA President Matt Flanigan. "We are delighted to be able to work with the Internet Security Alliance, the premier association in the cyber security policy arena, in putting this event together. With their cooperation and this stellar line-up of executive and public sector experts, we think the GLOBALCOMM(TM) attendees from more than 90 countries interested in information security issues and emergency communications will gain insights and learn innovative approaches to addressing critical concerns."
