Sondigo Joins Linksys with Innovative Product

Taipei, Taiwan (PRWEB) May 16, 2006 -- C-Media Electronics (TWO:6237) said that new company Sondigo has announced availability of its new product: the Sondigo Sirocco Wireless Audio Bridge. The new product is the first wireless audio product to feature Dolby Digital Live technology and joins the Linksys WMB54G Wireless Music Bridge as the second product based on C-Media Wi-Sonic technology.

"The Sondigo Sirocco product is the first of its kind and we are really pleased to see that consumers in North America can now buy one," said Eric Cheng, president of C-Media Electronics. "The C-Media Wi-Sonic technology is a great way to stream any audio from a PC to another room or even across a room."

Len Layton, president of Sondigo said: "The C-Media Wi-Sonic technology is the most advanced, robust and compatible wireless audio technology available, and the Sondigo Sirocco is a great implementation of the full set of features, including Dolby Digital Live real-time 5.1 channel surround sound."

Unlike proprietary wireless systems, C-Media Wi-Sonic uses consumer's existing 802.11g wireless network infrastructure and requires no hardware on the PC side. A simple driver software installation allows all audio, irrespective of format, content protection or Digital Rights Management (DRM) to be streamed to the compact and convenient C-Media Wi-Sonic hardware unit.

"It's a wireless sound card for your PC," said Len Layton, "anything your PC can play can be played on the Sondigo Sirocco Wireless Audio Bridge."

The Sondigo Sirocco is available now from Sondigo's online store at http://www.sondigo.com.

Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems, announced the Linksys WMB54G Wireless Music Bridge earlier this year to acclaim at the international consumer electronics show (CES) in Las Vegas. The Linksys WMB54G is also based on C-Media Wi-Sonic technology.

C-Media provides the C-Media Wi-Sonic solution as a package of hardware and software for OEMs to manufacture into products. Full reference design information with PCB layout, firmware and PC software are provided as part of the package.
