Secret Stories -- The Fantastical Drawings of Bruce Zeines

(PRWEB) May 16, 2006 -- Gallery 64 in Park Slope, Brooklyn will be featuring new works by Bruce Zeines. The show will open with a wine reception on Saturday, May 20 from 5 pm - 8 pm.

This work may be some of the most unique work you will see in Brooklyn. Mr. Zeines' drawings are intensely cross hatched works using pen and pigmented inks which evoke comparisons to Blake and Ernst. This show will be the first view of some of his larger works as well as some mixed media paintings on paper and scratchboard.

Mr. Zeines studied fine art and graphic design at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. His published work has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, as well as international publications. As a graphic designer he has created corporate identity and collateral for corporate and consumer clients for over 25 years.

This will be his second solo exhibition.

"Bruce Zeines has the uniquely combined talent of connecting the images of the subconscious with his profound dedication to line. He possesses a technical virtuosity that leaves one feeling they are viewing the work of an old world master. It is a compelling and lasting experience." —Irene Gennaro, Sculptor.

"With his current series of pen and ink works, Bruce Zeines lures you into an intriguing world, created from an obsessively rich density of cross hatched lines. These unique figure-based drawings elicit a strangely compelling mix of opposing responses, attraction and revulsion, even horror and amusement." —Audrey Frank Anastasi, Director, Tabla Rasa Gallery.

The show will be on view weekends until June 24. Gallery 64 is located at 64 Saint Marks Avenue between 5th and 6th Avenues in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Normal business hours are noon to 6 pm, Saturdays and Sundays, or by appointment.
