Pull Up A Chair….No Wallflower Here….., Artist and Designer Diana Berchan Has Had A Lifelong Love Affair With Color

New York City (PRWEB) May 16, 2006 -- Like a composer bringing a song to life, artist Diana Berchan's color sense is natural and strongly depicted in her watercolor paintings.

Matisse's color, Ben Shahn's gouache techniques and Alfred Pellan's line work are inspirations for her art. "I'm a colorist by training, so it is color that puts the finishing touches on my paintings." explains Berchan.

Through her training as a textile designer for the home furnishing industry, Diana Berchan has developed a strong affinity for painting with gouache. "Using its unique characteristics of both opacity and transparency, I find the use of this medium not only exciting, but also limitless." says Berchan.

Diana loves the freedom of creating her own line of art for her online gallery with titles like "Three Nymphs" and "Alter Ego". Her keen sense of color for the residential and hospitality markets, is a big plus when working on special projects with interior designers. Prices range from: $125 - $550 for limited edition prints, $650 and up for original watercolors.

Incorporating paper collage to enhance dimension, Berchan's powerful use of positive and negative space will leave you staring at the wall for hours. "My subject matter is based upon everyday situations within everyday life but with a playful twist", states Berchan. The viewer is immediately captivated by her figurative, abstract and floral paintings, filled with rich sensual colors of various patterns and textures.

Original watercolors and limited edition prints of Berchan's work are available online. Each giclee (print) has been carefully created using the latest in UltraChome Ink Technology. Printed on the finest acid-free watercolor paper, signed and numbered in a limited edition run of 250. These fine art reproductions will maintain their vibrancy for years to come.
