Barclays Global Investors (BGI), one of the world's largest asset managers(1), announces the appointment of Mark Talbot as CEO Asia Ex-Japan. Previously, Mark Talbot served as CIO, Asia fixed income based in San Francisco for the last three years, and has just relocated to Hong Kong.
Mark Talbot, CEO Asia Ex-Japan, said: "In the last 8 years, I have worked in a number of roles that have included designing investment solutions for Asian clients and managing Asia fixed income teams and I am very excited to be involved in BGI's business here."
Bob Haber, based in San Francisco, who was formerly CEO of the Asia Ex-Japan business, has taken the role of Vice Chairman. In this role Bob will be using his considerable knowledge, experience and relationships in Asia to provide consultation and advice in setting the business strategy. Bob will also be helping with senior level discussions with regulators and exchanges in the region as well as assisting in coordinating client events in Asia and San Francisco.
BGI has also appointed Jonathan Pye as Head of Sales & Client Service for Asia Ex-Japan located in Singapore. Jonathan's appointment further strengthens the senior management team on the ground in Asia and BGI's commitment providing the highest levels of client service. Prior to joining BGI, Jonathan worked for Barclays Capital for 8 years with the last 7 of those in Singapore. In his previous role Jonathan was responsible for distribution from the Singapore office of Barclays Capital, as well as the coverage of Central Banks and all Premier Accounts in the Asia Ex-Japan region.
