GE Money, the global consumer lending unit of General Electric Company, announced today the appointment of Thomas C. Gentile to Sr. Vice President, Global Marketing. Mr. Gentile will report directly to David R. Nissen, president and CEO of GE Money.

Gentile assumes his new role from GE Money's Australia and New Zealand business, where he has served as CEO since June 2002. During his tenure as CEO, GE Money's business in Australia and New Zealand has experienced strong double-digit growth, and expanded into new markets. With more than $26 billion in assets, and a 2005 net income of more than $300 million, GE Money is one of Australia's leading banking and financial services companies.

Gentile joined GE in 1997 from CBS Corporation, where he was Vice President, Strategy. At GE Money, he has held a variety of senior positions, including Six Sigma leader and president & CEO of GE Money-France. He earned a B.A. in Economics and an MBA from Harvard.

The Company said that Gentile would also retain his role as CEO of GE Money Australia & New Zealand until a successor is named, a decision expected shortly.
