Wine Basics is Now the Fundamentals

(PRWEB) April 26, 2006 -- Introduction? Basics? Beginners? … Foundation! The Wine School of Philadelphia has changed the name of its flagship program to The Wine Foundation Program. Originally labeled as the Wine Basics Program, it outgrew its name very quickly. "Even though the program is our most elementary program, there is nothing basic about it," says Keith Wallace, the school's director.

The Foundation Program is the culmination of 5 years of research. "Our emphasis on plain talk and sensory evaluation belies a lot of hard work and academic prowess" says Wallace. "The Foundation Program is based on the groundbreaking work done at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia and the University of California at Davis."

"It's an exciting time at the Wine School of Philadelphia," says Mr. Wallace, "our students are taking positions throughout the wine industry. Our graduates include importers, distributors, sommeliers, shop owners, and winery owners."

The Wine School programs differ from other programs available. While most wine education is based on rote memorization, the Wine School uses dynamic teaching methods based on current research. "Our programs are immensely enjoyable and educational. We are also building the future of the wine industry, one student at a time."

The Wine School will soon be announcing a partnership with a major university to offer a fully accredited diploma program for the wine professional. Currently, its flagship program, the Wine Foundation Program, is open for registration for the spring semester. Information on programs are available at www.winedegree.com.
