Lutterworth, United Kingdom (PRWEB) April 26, 2006 -- Intercede Ltd., a market leader in smart card identity management systems, today, announced that its FIPS 201 product, "MyID® PIV", supports both Oberthur Card Systems' recently released FIPS 201 PIV II certified smart cards and biometric technologies from multiple vendors that comply with the ANSI/INCITS 378 Data Interchange Format for Finger Minutiae.

Intercede's MyID PIV is a comprehensive smart card and identity management system designed to help US Federal Government agencies and their contractors meet HSPD-12 mandates. MyID PIV provides a comprehensive management platform offering a single line of authority to fully support and enforce the end-to-end policy, process, practice and technology stipulated by FIPS 201, Parts 1 and 2.

On April 20, 2006, Oberthur Card Systems' announced the certification of its new PIV II Smart Card, the first PIV II compliant dual-interface card available to the government market today. Intercede's MyID PIV enables both partners and end-user agencies to quickly register, identityproof, issue and maintain PIV ID's based on Oberthur's PIV II certified smart cards.
