Arlington, V.A, United States
The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) announced that 468 exhibiting companies purchased GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006 exhibition space to date, totaling 179,700 net square feet, and almost selling out the show. With its large number of exhibitors plus 20,000 projected attendees from 100 countries, GLOBALCOMM(TM) will be the largest horizontal telecommunications trade show in North America this year.
GLOBALCOMM(TM), the next-generation communications marketplace and summit, will be held June 4-8, 2006, at Chicago's McCormick Place. GLOBALCOMM(TM) replaces SUPERCOMM(R) as TIA's annual industry event.
"The exhibition space numbers reflect our commitment to the industry community to make GLOBALCOMM(TM) a truly global commercial experience," TIA President Matt Flanigan said. "Using TIAConnections, exhibitors are extending the sales process and generating real, qualified leads in advance of the show.
Participants are arranging meetings ahead of GLOBALCOMM(TM), and we expect to see an overall increase in ROI for exhibitors when compared to other shows. We intend to do everything we can to make GLOBALCOMM(TM) a valuable venue so that, ideally, exhibitors and attendees connect, converge and complete deals at the show.
GLOBALCOMM(TM) will be a 'must see' experience for ICT companies competing in the U.S. and abroad."
GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006 will feature free keynote
addresses by RIM President and Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis and Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin, as well as VIP panels.
Other major speakers include Alberto Duran, founder and CEO, Mundivox Communications; Sanjiv Ahuja, CEO, Orange; John T. Stankey, Senior Vice President and CTO, AT&T Inc.; and Stefano Pileri, CTO, Telecom Italia.
Additional content includes panels, paid conferences by the International Engineering Consortium, Light Reading/CMP Media, Telephony and other organizations, and co-location with OSP EXPO, the Outside Plant Exposition and Conference. The show will also feature a broad array of exciting product and exhibitor announcements.
GLOBALCOMM(TM) represents the premier business opportunity for the entire global communications and IT industry. More than 15 percent of attendees will be international, and the Department of Commerce International Trade Administration is working with GLOBALCOMM(TM) to provide an international buyers program.
