Mid-Century Modern, Joseph Eichler Homes Just Got Easier to Find

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 25, 2006 -- Renee Adelmann, a realtor with Keller Williams Realty who specializes in modern and mid-century modern homes in Northern California, today announced the launch of EichlerforSale.com, a new website resource showcasing "California Modern" homes and condominiums built by modernist, post-war residential real estate developer Joseph Eichler.

Between 1950 and 1974, Joseph Eichler and his company Eichler Homes built more than 11,000 homes throughout California. Inspired by modernist, open plan design themes made famous by Frank Lloyd Wright, Eichler Homes contracted with some of the most progressive architectural firms and architects including Jones and Emmons, Anshen + Allen, Claude Oakland and Raphael Soriano to build more than 11,000 homes throughout California. These homes featured post-and-beam construction, open floor plans and floor-to-ceiling glass which helped blur the line between indoor and outdoor living.

"Consumer interest in mid-century modern design and architecture has experienced a significant renaissance over the last several years. This renaissance has renewed interest in Eichler homes which both exemplified and helped to define "California Modern" mid-century modern residential architecture," commented Renee Adelmann. "This new website is designed to provide Eichler enthusiasts with an online resource which blends both historical and current information related to buying, selling and owning these magnificent homes."

The Eichler for Sale website includes information regarding Joseph Eichler's developments throughout San Francisco and Marin County, California. These developments include five Eichler tracts in Marin including Upper Lucas Valley, Marinwood, Terra Linda South, Terra Linda North and Mill Valley/Tiburon. Featured Eichler developments in San Francisco include the Eichler Summit high-rise on Russian Hill, the Laguna Eichler high-rise and complex on Cathedral Hill, the Geneva Towers and Terraces in Visitaction Valley, and the single-family home tract in Diamond Heights which was designed by architect Claude Oakland.
