Do You Have a Dream that Makes You Giggle? Dana Phillips Does

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) April 24, 2006 -- Dana Phillips struggles with a brain disorder and a congenital heart defect that caused her to undergo open-heart surgery one year ago. Yet her dream remained crystal clear: To volunteer in an orphanage in Tanzania, Africa. She needed $5,000 to make it happen. The BrilliantDay Giggle Dream Project is funding that dream.

On Saturday June 10 in Westminster, Colorado, Phillips will receive her $5,000 check as winner of the 2006 BrilliantDay Giggle Dream Award. She won by submitting her "giggle dream" to www.giggledream.com where she answered three questions: Why does your dream make you giggle? How will it make the world a better place? How much money will it take?

"My recent surgery has me viewing life from a different, higher perspective. I see life as precarious and precious. To live life to the fullest is to live your dreams now," explains Phillips, whose volunteer work will be coordinated by the non-profit agency Cross Cultural Solutions.

At the June 10 BrilliantDay Giggle Dream luncheon, held at the Westin Hotel in Westminster, Colorado and open to the public, founder Sue Frederick will present the keynote: Does your dream make you giggle? "When the dream makes you giggle, it's big enough to generate the required energy and passion to make it come true," explains Frederick, author of Dancing at Your Desk and BrilliantDay -- books that reconnect readers with their long-lost passions.

"Everyone has a big 'unrealistic' dream that they've stuffed away. My work helps people remember their unrealistic giggle dream -- which is where their passion and creativity lives. We launched the BrilliantDay Giggle Dream Project as a way to encourage giggle dreams and to fund as many as we could."

At www.giggledream.com visitors can enter their giggle dream in hopes of winning the next award. Based on their answers to the three questions and on the available funding, winners will be chosen for 2007.

"I invite everyone to join us at the June 10 luncheon to relish in our giggle dreams, meet Dana and hear her story, and help fund future giggle dreams," says Frederick. To sign up for the luncheon at the Westin Hotel in Westminster, visit www.giggledream.com or call 303-939-8574.
