Chef's Studio Urges Support of New Orleans Wine & Food Experience

Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 24, 2006 -- The team at Chef's Studio urge America to support the first New Orleans Wine and Food Experience since Hurricane Katrina, and help bring back the unique culinary experience of the many fine restaurants in New Orleans.

Alan Simpson, President of LeisureTime Network, Inc. (LTN) parent of Chef's Studio and a leading advocate of global culinary tourism commented, "New Orleans is a jewel of culinary pleasure in a mundane wilderness of American fast food, and needs our support on their road to recovery. Join us there, along with food and wine lovers from around the world from May 24th, till May 28th enjoying the cuisine from the many fine restaurants."

Besides the many restaurants that contribute to the experience wine makers from around the world bring their wines to pair with the dishes at the long list of Vintners Dinners around the French Quarter, on the Wednesday evening. On the Thursday evening Royal Street is closed to traffic and the winemakers join with the shops and art galleries to provide a unique tasting experience, strolling from shop to gallery, to shop, tasting the many wines. With the infamous Convention Center out of action the two Grand Tastings will be at the Hilton Hotel, on Friday and Saturday, where wine and food abound.

This support of the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience and the New Orleans restaurants not only benefits culinary tourism, but helps reinvigorate a whole food chain of suppliers, fishermen and farmers whose lives were devastated by the Hurricane, and government inactivity.

"Tourism is badly represented in Washington, DC, and Culinary Tourism in America is so far behind the rest of the world as to be embarrassing," explains Alan Simpson. "Most countries have realized the value of the culinary experience, and how precious the culinary infrastructure of centers such as New Orleans are to a nation."

Alan Simpson has experienced over 85 countries and is a world leader in the fields of culinary tourism and tourism intelligence. He is working closely with Chefs from around the world to develop better media understanding of culinary tourism, for understanding the cuisine's of diverse cultures is a major step towards understanding them.
