Glendale, Arizona (PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Upbeat music and dancing… Hands lifted in worship…Vocal ‘Amen' from the congregation…These spiritual practices are foreign to most Jews both in Israel and America. It was this style of Christianity that television station, Israel 10, one of the largest broadcasting networks in Israel, came to experience this past Easter Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.
Israel 10 camera crews came early Sunday to the home of Chad and Stephani Olson, owners of http://www.Churchshoppers.com[Churchshoppers.com] to chronicle a typical Christian Easter. Reporters participated in traditions such as Easter baskets, egg hunts and Sunday breakfast. After the festivities, reporters sat down with the Christian business owners for a frank and open discussion about evangelical Christians in America, redemption, freedom and the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Israeli reporters were very curios about the Christian viewpoint of the afterlife. They were amazed at the security, hope and peace that evangelical Christians possessed in regards to their own deaths. When asked if he feared death, Chad Olson responded "No. I don't want to leave this earth right now because I believe I am just getting started on accomplishing the destiny and purpose God has given me for this life. I also want to be able to watch my children grow up, but if I were to die today, I have the peace and security in knowing that I would spend eternity with Jesus in heaven." The Olson's were also able to explain how any person could accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior based on the Word of God as found in the New Testament.
The Olson's are owners of a new online directory of churches in America, http://www.Churchshoppers.com[Churchshoppers.com], with over 103,000 churches currently listed in their database. Their services are unique as their site allows churches to build and present detailed profiles of their church including service times, ministries and amenities offered, preaching and music style. The news crew followed the Olson's to Covenant International Church, a multi-ethnic, charismatic church in Glendale Arizona for Sunday service. Reporters participated in the worship services as camera crews filmed the vibrant and enthusiastic congregation. One reporter commented that "This service is more like a rock concert. Our religious services are dead and boring." Covenant International Church, Pastor Larry Seratt, openly expressed his desire that this documentary would be used as a tool in winning Jews to Christ.
This documentary will be presented as part of a mini-series about religion in America. Israel 10 is the largest broadcasting station in Israel.
