Brightech announces Enterprise Digital Asset Management System
Brightech announces Enterprise Digital Asset Management System for Mac OS X based on Sybase enterprise class RDBMS - MediaBeacon, a suite of digital asset management products, enables companies to easily capture, manage, collaborate upon and distribute digital content.

Minneapolis, MN, October 8, 2003

BrighTech, Inc., a leading digital asset management software company, today announced the introduction of MediaBeacon for Mac OS X running on Sybase® Adaptive Server® Enterprise (ASE), the only enterprise-class relational database management system (RDBMS) for the Mac platform. MediaBeacon, a suite of digital asset management products, enables companies to easily capture, manage, collaborate upon and distribute digital content. By automating the management process and ensuring the availability of correct files, MediaBeacon can significantly lower costs, reduce errors and improve time-to-market for end users. MediaBeacon is the first and only enterprise asset management currently running on ASE 12.5 for Mac.

"MediaBeacon leverages the scalability, availability and reliability of Sybase ASE, ensuring that users on the Mac platform get the superior performance that our customers have always depended on," said Jason Bright, CEO of BrighTech. "Sybase ASE is a great data management system for high-performance applications on Mac OS X."

"By combining the scalability and reliability of Sybase ASE, Apple’s legendary ease of use and MediaBeacon’s well-architected digital asset management system, content owners can now get an easy-to-use enterprise level asset management solution," said Steve Bertges, vice president of the Macintosh business for Sybase. "Sybase ASE can serve as a foundation for MediaBeacon, WebObjects and many other systems that need the full, rich feature set of an enterprise-class RDBMS."
