Smt. Suman Krishan Kant has been unanimously elected President of Mahila Dakshata Samiti for the 5th time. She has been the President of Mahila Dakshata since 1993. Mahila Dakshata Samiti was founded in 1977 and has completed 25 years of work in the empowerment and upliftment of women.

Smt. Suman Krishan Kant has been in the forefront of women's movement and has championed the cause of women for the last 50 years. She is an eminent writer.
