EXPORT OF AGRO PRODUCT ALLOWED AS ORGANIC PRODUCT WITH EFFECT FROM 1st OCTOBER 2001



New Delhi~ July 4, 2001

The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a Public Notice No. 25 dated 2nd July 2001 under which the effective date of earlier Public Notice No.19 (RE-2001)/1997-2002 dated 11th June 2001 has been extended to 1st October 2001. Earlier it was 1st July 2001.

Vide above Public Notice an agricultural product is allowed to be exported as "Organic Product" only if it is produced processed or packed under a valid Organic Certificate issued by a certifying agency duly accredited by one of the following Accreditation Agencies:

i. Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)
ii. Coffee Board
iii. Spices Board
iv. Tea Board
