SMT. SUSHMA SWARAJ CONDOLES THE DEATH OF SAILEN CHATTERJEE

New Delhi ~ July 17, 2001

The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Smt. Sushma Swaraj has deeply condoled the death of distinguished veteran journalist freedom fighter and close associate of Mahatma Gandhi Shri Sailen Chatterjee here today. In her message the Minister said Shri Chatterjee would be long remembered for his coverage of Gandhiji's Peace Mission in Noakhali. He was totally dedicated to the high traditions and principles of journalism on which he never compromised. His services to the profession would remain a source of inspiration to the younger generation of journalist she said.
