N. GOPALASWAMI TAKES OVER AS CULTURE SECRETARY



New Delhi ~ June 26 2001


Shri N. Gopalaswami took over as Secretary Department of Culture in place of Dr. R.V.V. Ayyar here today. He belongs to the 1966 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (Gujarat Cadre). He held the office of the Secretary-General Human Rights Commission prior to this assignment. Immediately after taking over the Secretary held a meeting with the senior officials of the Department to review various ongoing programmes and schemes.
