Website aims to dispel misconceptions about the organization
Hyderabad, October 6: Lodge Keys No. 297, a local unit of Freemasonry, 3000 years old one of the world's oldest secular fraternal societies. is now online at www.lodgekeys297.org. The new website on freemasonry was launched by Justice Devinder Gupta, Former Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court who is also associated with Freemasonry as The Grand Master of Grand Lodge of India. Justice Gupta also launched on the occasion "Decade & Beyond" a book of history on Lodge Keys and flagged off "Masons on Wheels", an all India road journey of Lodge Keys members connecting Freemasonry with Society and spread the message of Eye Donation.
According to Worshipful Brother D. Ramchandram, Worshipful Master, Lodge Keys No. 297, the website is as much as for the member as for the general public. It is aimed to inform the general public over the Internet of what freemasonry is about. Through this site one can discover what the Freemsonry is all about. Many people perceive freemasonry as a secret society. But it is not. Though Freemasonry has been in existance for the past 3000 years all over the globe and in India 250 years and in twin cities 200 years, not many know about the organisation.
The website aims to clear these kind of perceptions and more. Information about what freemasonry does and is about is given extensively on the site. The site covers topics such as Freemasonry in India and Andhra Pradesh, history, eminent freemasons from Indian and twin cities, interesting facts, news, FAQs and there is much more to come...
The website shall help the members to connect, network, inform, educate and entertain. Currently we have 356 Lodges(primary units in Freemasonry like a club in other organisations), but hardly thirty Lodges have website. Where as in England, every Lodge has a website, Ramchandram informed
Commenting on the launch of the website Justice Devinder Gupta said the launching of Website by the Lodge Keys No. 297 is the turning point in Freemasonry as it aimed at dispeling the prevailing notion that Freemasonry is a Secret Socity.It is also an endeavour to take Freemasonry close to socieity and its problems and create awareness for the same and to instill more Freemasonry in Men by spreading the message and philosophy of Freemasonry, so that we not only have more men in Freemasonry, but also to ensure that more men will have more Freemasonry in them.
