Hyderabad' October 12' 2007: Digital technology leader' Samsung India today launched its Olympic Program for the Beijing 2008 Olympics by announcing Manavjit Singh Sandhu as its Olympic Brand Ambassador and launching 'Spread the Olympic Flame' - its Torch Bearer Nomination Program to the BEIJING 2008 Olympic Torch Relay. Samsung Electronics is a TOP Olympic Sponsor for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Olympic Partner for the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay. Ace Shooter' Manavjit Singh' who is a World Shooting Champion and a Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award Winner 2006 will be spearheading Samsung India's Olympic Program for the BEIJING 2008 Olympics' including the Nomination Program being launched today.

'Spread the Olympic Flame' Nomination program as it is called' is an invitation to the Indian public to participate in the Olympic program by nominating their torchbearers for the global Olympic Torch Relay as it passes through Mumbai on April 17th' 2008. As Presenting Partner for the Olympic Torch Relay 2008' Samsung is inviting the public to select the Torchbearers who will carry the Torch on behalf of Samsung at the Torch Relay. The Samsung selected Torchbearers will join the other privileged Torchbearers selected by the Indian Olympic Association for the Torch Relay in Mumbai.
'Spread the Olympic Flame' Nomination program' open to public between October 10~25' 2007' invites the India Public to nominate their role models' people who have overcome difficulties to become achievers' people who lead by example' people who have pushed the limit for a better life and made a difference .These can be people in the area of Media /Sports or people in our everyday life' who we think' deserve to carry the Torch. States Manavjit Singh Sandhu' "I think it is a great opportunity for the Indian public to participate in the Olympic movement by nominating their role models' people who they think deserve the honor of carrying the Torch. I think a participative program like this will give strong encouragement to the Olympic movement in India and I am happy to partner with Samsung to take the Olympic movement forward".
Consumers can nominate their role models by logging on to www.samsung.com/in or filling up the Nomination Form available at Samsung Brand Shops all over the country. The selection of the Torchbearers will be an eminent panel comprising of eminent representatives from the media' Indian Olympic Association and Samsung.
"In the coming few months' we will be carrying out several Olympic related programs which will generate excitement for the Olympics in India and build support for the Indian team as they prepare for the BEIJING 2008 Olympics." states Mr Lee. Manavjit Singh Sandhu will spearhead the Company's Olympic Program not only through its advertising and communication platforms but also through programs that will allow Manavjit to directly engage with the public.
