Reaching Over 15,000 Individuals - CRY's Virtual Race in its Final Lap

The first virtual run for child rights in India is in its final lap. The race pioneered by Child Rights and You (CRY), launched on February 16, 2007 has successfully reached out to over 15,000 individuals in just 4 weeks, with more than 80% leads from India. Building awareness towards the rights of underprivileged children it enters the penultimate week of registration. The race that has brought Indians across the globe on a common platform to ensure child rights ends on April 6, 2007.

"The response to this virtual run has been overwhelming across the globe. There has been a broad spectrum of participation ranging from the very young to senior citizens cutting across all sections of society. Over 500 participants have signed the online petition 'the Child Rights charter' to vote for the kind of world they want for children." says Ingrid Srinath, CEO, CRY.

With 3872 participants signed on for raising funds for the run the race is fast closing on to the target of five lakhs in 4 weeks itself globally close to three lakhs has been raised. Next two weeks are crucial to build the cause for child rights and make it a resounding success. The appeal is to all Indian netizen's and their friends to pitch in.
