Microsoft Wins the Frost & Sullivan Growth Strategy Leadership Award for Mid Market ERP

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Microsoft has been awarded the Growth Strategy Leadership Award for Mid Market ERP for the year 2006. The award is an acknowledgment of Microsoft's substantial growth in this segment through unique business strategies.

Microsoft has deployed a unique partnership model, which allows for a greater degree of customization of its offering. As a result, Microsoft Dynamics NAV offers integrated business applications and services that allow small and midsize organizations to streamline their business and increase productivity.

While presenting the award, Mr. Alok Shende, Vice President - ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan, said, "In India, Microsoft has primarily focused on the high growth mid-market ERP segment. It has met the challenge of providing tailor-made solutions at a low price presented by this segment with its strategy of developing micro verticals and user friendly applications in partnership with local integrators. Another aspect of Microsoft's strategy has been its focus on niche verticals that had little competition as well as in existing verticals."

A delighted Rajeev Mittal, Group Director, Small and Mid Market Solution and Partners, Microsoft India, on receiving the award said," Our outstanding growth of customer base to over 450 in just two years can be attributed to the great faith our partners have in the value proposition of Dynamics. Its familiar look, ease of integration and use has hence seen phenomenal adoption. This award further reinforces Microsoft's commitment to the business applications market in India and our success in providing solutions to SMBs".

A recipient is chosen to receive the Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Strategy Leadership based on specific criteria. Through primary and secondary research methods, all companies' market revenues are tracked and those exhibiting significant growth are noted for their strategy implementation. Revenues are then compared year-to-year to monitor growth patterns. When a company continues to show high growth rates, it is a candidate for the Frost & Sullivan Award Growth Strategy Leadership.

According to Frost & Sullivan research, the ERP software in India in 2005 was estimated to be at $45.1 Million, a growth of 25 percent over the previous year. It also anticipates continuing high growth in the years 2005-2012 with mid market driving the ERP markets. The mid market ERP software market was worth $20.8 in 2005 with an impressive 38.1% growth rate over the year 2004. Frost & Sullivan expects the mid market ERP software market to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.6 percent between the years 2005 and 2012.
