The RBNQA is one of India's most prestigious quality and business excellence awards and was instituted by the Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC) in 1995. Modelled 100% on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from the US, it is awarded to companies that demonstrate outstanding customer orientation and quality management systems.
Consistent with the principles of continuous improvement, the award's criteria have been revised and improved every year. The IMC follows a rigorous evaluation procedure while selecting the winners. The IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award aims to:
