GHCL Limited Reports Financial Performance for March QTR 2007 /15 M Period Ending March 2007

Highlights-Financial

-- Consolidated Income from Operations for the 15 Months at Rs.2777.55 Crores, EBIDTA at Rs.235.15 Crores

-- Income from Operations of the India business for the15 M period ending March 2007 has risen by 23% to Rs. 1070.78 Crores as against Rs. 873.19 Crores for the corresponding period.

-- EBIDTA for 15 M period ending March 2007 of the India business has risen by 24% to Rs. 275.76 Crores as compared to Rs.221.82 Crores in the corresponding period.

-- PAT (Profit After Tax) for 15M period ending Mar 2007 of the India business up 23% to Rs. 148.09 Crores against 120.10 Crores for the 15 M period ending March 2006.PAT for the present quarter at Rs. 33.14 Crores as against Rs. 28.12 Crores for March 2006 showing a rise of 18%.

Highlights -Others

-- GHCL consolidates Dan River operations, improved order book, led by strong marketing, outsourcing and HR initiatives. Has developed over 50 vendor relationships for the outsourcing from India, China, Pakistan, Mexico, Combodia and Turkey. Dan River increases its client base to over 900

-- GHCL Inc., a step down subsidiary of GHCL Limited, acquired BEST MANUFACTURING GROUP of USA with an annual turnover of US $ 160 Million for a consideration of US $ 35 million

-- Company commissions additional 25000 spindles for spinning, total capacity now at 1,15,000 spindles. Expansion to add further 25,000 spindles progressing as per schedule

-- Company's Indian soda ash capacity increased from 6 lacs MT to 8.5 lacs MT during the year. Increases its market share to 45% in northern markets and 35% in the western markets

-- Soda ash prices have increased on an average by Rs.275 PMT

-- GHCL Romania is gaining preferred vendor status in Romania and has added 10 Marquee clients in the dense soda ash(glass area) namely SAINT GOBAIN, OWENS, GUARDIAN, STRIOM, P&G, signaling strong growth in automobiles, construction and FMCG.

Income from Operations for the15 M period ending March 2007 has risen by 23% to Rs. 1070.78 Crores as against Rs. 873.19 Crores for the corresponding period

EBIDTA for 15 M period ending March 2007 has risen by 24% to Rs. 275.76 Crores as compared to Rs.221.82 Crores in the corresponding period

PAT(Profit After Tax) for 15M period ending Mar 2007 up 23% to Rs. 148.09 Crores against 120.10 Crores for the 15 M period ending March 2006.

Buisness Mix:

-- Textiles division revenue during the 15 Months period ending (Mar 2007) contributed 34% to the total revenue as compared to 29%, it contributed in the corresponding 15M period ended March 2006

-- Soda Ash revenue during period accounted for 65 % of the total business revenue as compared to 70% it accounted in March 2006.

The Company has posted a sustained financial performance for Quarter Ended March 2007

-- Income from Operations for the quarter ending March 2007 has risen 2.4% to Rs. 249.75 Crores from Rs. 243.99 Crores reported in the March 06.

-- EBIDTA for the quarter at was Rs. 51.16 Crores as against Rs. 49.1 Crores reported in the March 2006 showing a rise of 4.2%.

-- PAT for the present quarter at Rs. 33.14 Crores as against Rs. 28.12 Crores for March 2006 showing a rise of 18%.

-- EPS for the quarter is higher by 11.82 % in the present quarter at Rs.3.31 (basic) from Rs. 2.96 in the reported quarter ended March 2006

Business Mix:

-- Textiles division revenue during the quarter (March 2007) accounts for 41%

-- Soda Ash revenue during the quarter (March 2007) accounted for 58.8 % of the total business
