Hyderabad, April 11... Zone-H, the multinational IT security giant headquartered in Europe which is considered the most authoritative voice on cyber crimes and achieved global acclaim for its trail blazing initiatives in IT security and popularly known as the world's security observatory forays into India. They have chosen to move forward in the region with an equally illustrious local partner - E2 Labs. E2-Labs is India's fastest growing Info-Security Company providing comprehensive network security solutions to organizations across the globe. Based at Hyderabad E2-Labs has the unique distinction of starting Asia's first School of Ethical Hacking. Its efforts in promoting information security across the globe has earned it the RED HERRING 100 PRIVATE COMPANIES OF ASIA 2005 AWARD conferred upon it by Red Herring USA.

As per the MoU signed this morning, E2-Labs will be the sole partner for Zone-H in Training, Services, Consultancy, Seminars and Boot Camps for this region that will include Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and India as well. The partnership will kick off operations with a powerful 6-day training program on IT security for corporates announced Mr. Roberto Preatoni, Founder and CEO of Zone-H and Mr. Zaki Qureshey, CMD of E-2 Labs addressing a joint press conference in Hyderabad today.

Zone-H founder Mr. Roberto will conduct this program. He has been interviewed by several print and online newspapers sharing his experiences relating to cyber war and cyber crimes. His key fields of research range from mobile and wireless competitive security to the classification of information and forensics technologies applied to identity management and ambient intelligence.

The training program will provide valuable, up-to-date perspectives on security threats individuals and organizations face in today's connected work environment. Furthermore, it will look at how you can better protect your organization and its security. The program also intends to provide hi-end training in Cyber Security and would equip the participants with a powerful set of skills to tackle the widely prevalent and hitherto complex cyber crimes.

Participants will learn about how innovative solutions can keep organizations "Information secure", the issues shaping the future of Information Security, emerging and proven technologies that help protect valuable data from Hacking, Virus and other information security related risks and the latest security products and practices

More than ever, companies across the globe are depending on Information Technology to drive their business. With the expanding horizon of the cyber world and the explosive proliferation of cyber crime, there is always a serious concern about the safety of the digital assets. Large organizations have succeeded in setting up the first lines of defence, in some cases, many layers of defence to protect their digital assets. Most companies have made noteworthy efforts to protect themselves from malicious content and the highly dangerous hackers. However, IT-security continues to be a challenge for organizations across the world. Organizations need to keep abreast of newer threats that are capable of destroying their digital assets and secure data with deeper levels of security, layering access control and encryption based technologies on the most critical data. Identity theft, phishing and other online frauds are the order of the day and the situation gets murkier, tougher and more traumatic each day for organizations leveraging the online apparatus as hackers take the world to ransom

Confidence in using the Internet for business can only come with good security. Hackers, keen to tout their latest exploits, have played havoc with Internet services in the recent past. The information technology (IT) infrastructure of India, which is now vital for communication, commerce, and control of our physical infrastructure, is highly vulnerable to terrorist and criminal attacks. Lack of proper knowledge on this key issue, especially in a country like India where the use of the online apparatus is just gaining momentum, is exposing many organizations to potential security risk. Better education for users will help eradicate these threats and the real solution is not in technology alone. It is in people, best practices and effective training. A study conducted by the Department of Information Technology, has revealed that in the first half of 2006, India has been the favoured target for Internet hackers.

The analysis which was carried out by the Computer Emergency Response Team (Cert-In) that takes care of computer security-related incidents, has stated that in the first half till June 2006, a total of 1,752 Indian Web sites were defaced, of which 39 were ".gov.in" Websites. A huge amount of Indian top level domain sites - .co.in, .net.in, .gov.in, .org.in, .nic.in, .ernet.in, .ac.in, and .res.in - were defaced, with the commercial sector contributing to 68.3 percent of defacements, and the Government sector contributing to 27.3 percent of them. www.fmc.com, www.railnet.com, and www.ieg.com, were the three Indian government websites that were defaced on the VSNL network.

At this juncture, it is heartening to note that Zone-H, the multinational IT security giant headquartered in Europe is coming to India. It is supported by a worldwide community of more than 50 experts comprising IT professionals, journalists, students and scholars, Zone-HS present a realistic and "no-hat" perspective on web trends.
