WORLD GAMEMASTER TOURNAMENT (WGT) is one of the world's most thrilling PC gaming competition partnering ASUS, Intel & ATI
Mumbai, India, 10th October 2006: The Grand Finale of the most thrilling PC Gaming Tournament 'World GameMaster Tournament' was announced at a Press Conference held in the City today. World GameMaster Tournament is one of the largest PC gaming competitions in 2006 to be held over 20 countries. This makes PC Gaming an upcoming young generation sport. With ASUS as the official gaming hardware provider, Intel providing the official computing platform & ATI being the world leader in design & manufacture of innovative 3D graphics solutions joining the fray, the TRIO promises that the WGT will be a resounding success for dedicated gamers all over India as they compete against one another and gamers located on a national level. With this event, WGT aims to become ASUS, Intel and ATI sponsored annual global event which will bring rise to the elite players in each countries.
The WGT preliminaries took place in four cities in India and ASUS provided its latest gaming solutions to the country's elite players. ASUS as a gaming vendor has taken this platform to encourage PC gamers to test their skills on a national level. By this initiative, they wish to enhance the perception about PC gaming in the Indian scenario.
Giving an Overview of the PC Gaming Industry in India Mr. Andrew Tsui (MD Asus) said that, "PC Gaming is gaining momentum in India and by hosting such events we wish to make end users aware about the ultimate gaming configurations. The Indian gamers are very enthusiastic about this competition and we wish that not just gamers but even PC users should be made aware about the advanced technologies."
Mr. Amit Jaokar, Technical Promotion Manager, ASUS India said, "Being an enthusiast gamer myself, I have observed that Indian gamers need more recognition. WGT is a platform for the same and the only place where even amateur gamers get to compete separately. Gaming as an industry is still at a nascent stage in India. Mr. Rajshekhar Bhatt (Head of Sales ATi Tech India) then expressed his views about WGT & their partnering with the event, "The response to this event has been phenomenal. This event has also shown us that Indian gamers have tremendous potential and it is really encouraging to see the level of gaming all across the country improving. Nine teams were chosen from the qualifiers to compete in the National Finale in India. The finale will be held at the Inorbit Mall, Malad on 14th & 15th October 2006, 11 a.m. onwards.
India's best gaming PC system from Asus was also displayed at the event. Many other products including high end gaming hardware and soon to be launched very prestigious ASUS Lamborghini notebook were also displayed.
The theme for this event is rightly called 'Let's Game'.
