NTPC Limited plans to introduce new technologies for quantum leap in capacity addition and follow a multi-pronged growth strategy to achieve its ambitious plan of becoming a 75,000 MW company by the year 2017, this was stated by Shri T. Sankaralingam, CMD, NTPC while addressing the employees on the 31st raising day of the company. He informed that the company is entering into new areas of growth by taking up challenging projects in the Hydro sector, coal mining, oil exploration and also nuclear generation in the XII th plan.
Shri Sankaralingam gave the credit for the unprecedented growth of the company to its employees; he added that it is their hard-work, passion for innovativeness and creativity which shall make NTPC a world class integrated power major.
Shri Chandon Roy, Director (Operations) , Shri R. S. Sharma, Director (Commercial) , Shri A. K. Singhal, Director (Finance) and Shri R.C. Shrivastav, Director (HR) and employees in large were present on the occasion.
NTPC is today the largest power generating company in the country with 14 Coal, 7 Gas based and 4 Joint Venture projects with a total installed capacity of 26,404 MW.
