The media had reports that Lakshmi Mittal may acquire a substantial stake in the company.
The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.
Heg Ltd has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "The news item is not based on information that has officially originated from the Company and is therefore speculative. The company is focused on strengthening its technology and capability - led leadership status in the market place, where its high quality products are accepted by a set of sophisticated and discerning customers that include some of the largest steelmakers worldwide. The Company will keep the Exchange informed of any material development that arises with regard to its operations and business activities and outlook."
