On the High Road with Castrol Activ X-tra

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Five passionate bikers from a famous biking club called Eastern Bulls embarked on a journey on their bullets from Kolkata to Khardungla pass in Leh, the highest motorable road on earth. This trip is supported by Castrol India Ltd. and these riders will be the first to test Activ X-tra, a newly launched lubricant of Castrol exclusively meant for extreme applications and heavier two-wheeler engines.

These riders coming from different walks of life plan to accomplish this trip in three weeks riding through Dhanbad, Varanasi, Allahabad, Kanpur Agra, Mathura, Faridabad, Panipat and Chandigarh. Announcing the launch of Castrol Activ X-tra, the riders will also educate the local mechanics and dealers about the advantages of using Castrol Activ X-tra in heavy engines especially in extreme applications such as long journeys across 5000 km and harsh weather conditions. They will also be meeting a cross section of people from various demographic areas, interact with them, exchange cultural views, and spread a message of peace and harmony.

The event was flagged off at Kolkata on July 02, 2006 by Mr. Shankha Banerjee from Castrol India Ltd. He said "This biking tour is a wonderful opportunity to test Castrol Activ X-tra prior to its launch in India, later on in the month. This lubricant has been specially designed for heavier engines like the bullet engines, and for extreme applications such as trips like this across 5000 km. Castrol has continuously aimed at addressing the needs of passionate bikers and the success of this trip will be an indication of the success of Castrol Activ X-tra."

Mr. Indrajeet Sen, Founder of Eastern Bulls said "We are looking forward to the additional excitement of being part of this unique on road test process. Castrol has a long and distinguished association with motorsport for over a century and we are indeed very proud to be associated with this winning brand!"

The journey will be a test of wits and stamina for the riders. The ride will be in the high summers of the Indian subcontinent scorching highways and freezing altitude of Leh which boasts to be one of the top ten toughest roads on earth.

Eastern Bulls, started on 8th February 2003 by Indrajeet Sen, is a non-profit, voluntary Bullet Club for the Royal Enfield owners, lovers and admirers of this beast. This Club is based in Kolkata, and its main objective is to bring together riders from all over India and across the seven continents.
