Kingfisher Airlines Becomes the First Indian Carrier to Operate 100 Daily Flights in 15 Months

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Kingfisher Airlines India's fastest growing private carrier and the first airline in India to offer a premium first class service on domestic routes, today announced that it had launched a daily non-stop service connecting Mumbai to Chennai.

With three flights daily, in either direction, the addition of this new route will provide convenient service for business and leisure travelers alike. The launch of this new route takes the number of daily flights operated by Kingfisher Airlines to 102 flights connecting 17 destinations and the number of daily flights operated out of Mumbai goes up to 23 flights. Kingfisher Airlines is perhaps the only airline in the domestic circuit to have achieved the goal of 100 daily flights in a mere 15 months.

The launch of this new service connecting the nation's commercial hub with the fourth largest metropolis in India marks yet another milestone towards achieving the ambitious growth plans of Kingfisher Airlines.

Besides providing more convenient options for air travelers who fly on the Mumbai-Chennai sector, the launch of these new services by Kingfisher Airlines will ensure that the whole experience of flying is comfortable, fun-filled and enjoyable. The addition of these new flights is part of Kingfisher Airlines' overarching game plan to rapidly expand network by providing connectivity between important destinations which have a huge potential for growth in air traffic, given the overall growth in passenger traffic in domestic aviation.

What's more all Kingfisher Airlines' King Club members stand to enjoy double miles credit on travel on this sector. All they have to do is travel between Mum-Chennai or Chennai-Mumbai within the month of August to avail the Double Miles credit into their account.

Adds Mr. Girish Shah, Head Marketing, Kingfisher Airlines Limited, "Kingfisher Airlines has grown by leaps and bounds since its launch. And as we always promise, with Kingfisher Airlines you are bound to experience the Good Times. Our special offer for King Club members will help them accrue miles faster. The same offer stands for all future sector launches."
