Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Philips Electronics India Limited, a subsidiary of the Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics and the Number One Consumer Electronics brand in Europe, maintaining its tradition of excellence and innovation, announced the launch of India's first Digital Photo Display.

A simple solution for displaying pictures

Philips has introduced the Digital Photo Display in response to the immense popularity of digital photography amongst consumers. The Philips Digital Photo Display makes it easy for consumers to showcase their digital photographic memories.

Philips research has found that even though digital photography amongst consumers has gained tremendous popularity, many do nothing more with their photographs than store them on a PC. Only about 20% of pictures taken ever are printed out. Consumers digitally scan old prints to preserve precious memories - but only to archive them on a PC. The Philips Digital Photo Display will now provide consumers with a dynamic platform for displaying images with simplicity and ease.

Philips Digital Photo Display

--Displays your digital photos with print-like picture quality
on a high resolution LCD Display
--Easy to use with intuitive buttons for hassle-free, one-touch operation
--Displays photos in landscape or portrait images individually and / or in slideshow format
--Runs on either rechargeable battery or AC power
--Stylishly designed and affordably priced at an MRP of Rs 12,990/-

Housed in a stylish glass-and-metal-effect frame, the compact Digital Photo Display's 5.4 x 3.6-inch (14 x 9cm), 133ppi (pixels per inch) high resolution LCD screen displays 88% more pixels per square inch than a 17-inch LCD monitor screen. As an elegant, portable digital photo gallery for the home or workplace, the Digital Photo Display delivers print-like picture quality, full 16-bit color and adjustable brightness of up to 200 nits, reproducing rich detail and vibrant colors.

The Philips Digital Photo Display can be powered either from an internal battery or by using the supplied AC adaptor connected. When unplugged from the mains, the rechargeable battery will allow up to 50 minutes of operation, enabling owners to pass around the Digital Photo Display and share their pictures amongst a group of family, friends or colleagues.

The Digital Photo Display can be used for landscape or portrait images and also comes with a handy feature that allows users to automatically turn the display on and off at preset times everyday.

Between 50 and 80 pictures from SDÔ, MMCÔ, Memory Stick® and Compact Flash® memory cards, or directly (via USB) from digital cameras or PCs can be uploaded into the Digital Photo Display. Philips software optimizes uploaded photos without compromising display quality, with pictures that can be browsed individually, as thumbnails or displayed in a slideshow.

The Philips Digital Photo Display, is priced at an affordable MRP of Rs. 12, 990/-. It is available at Philips ARENA, the network of exclusive Philips Brand shops, in select cities, spread across the country, and also through the Corporate Marketing Channel of the Consumer Electronics Division of Philips Electronics India Limited.
