Letter to Editor - Election Commission on NCP
New Delhi: March 8, 2004

Election Commission has given a decisive and bold verdict by awarding ‘clock’ election symbol to Nationalist Congress Party headed by Shard Pawar. Till now, it was an indecisive practice of Election Commission to freeze election symbols in case of disputes. Indecision should only be in case of rare cases where it is impossible to decide.

Election Commission has proved itself impartial by not being under pressure of ruling NDA by deciding against PA Sangma who has since joined hands with NDA, but commands negligible support in the erstwhile (united) Nationalist Congress Party!
