Aluminum production in May 2004
New Delhi: June 7, 2004

The total production of Aluminium Metal by the National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a public sector unit of the Department of Mines, in May 2004 has been estimated at 25,078 tonnes against a target of 26,100 tonnes. Cumulative production during April and May 2004 has been 49,178 tonnes against a target of 50,750 tonnes.

During the month the company produced 135,000 tonnes of Alumina against a target of 134,000 tonnes. Cumulative production during April and May has been 268,500 tonnes against the target of 263,000 tonnes. Bauxite production during May was 433,899 tonnes and for April and May was 777,586 tonnes. It produced 453.19 million units of power from its captive power plant during May, 2004. The cumulative production for April and May has been 928 million units.

NALCO has sold 22,375 tonnes of aluminium metal during May against a target of 26,100 tonnes. Out of this domestic sales was 15,162 tonnes and 7,213 tonnes were exported. During the month, the company has given 77.34 million units of power to GRIDCO.
