Spending on Infrastructural Projects
New Delhi: July 14, 2004

Lok Sabha

The Government has taken a decision to increase the spending on infrastructural projects. There is a continuous increase in the expenditure on infrastructure projects in the last 3 years. Actual expenditure recorded in the year 2001-02, 2002-03 and 2003-04 are Rs. 16,329 crore, Rs. 25,092 crore and Rs. 29.380 crore respectively.

As on 1ST April this year, 207 projects on the monitor of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation are scheduled for completion during the year 2004-05.

This information was given by the Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation (Independent Charge), Shri Oscar Fernandes in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
