Conversion of Broad Gauge from Metre Gauge
New Delhi: July 15, 2004

Lok Sabha

A target of 2365 kilometres of Gauge Conversion has been fixed for Tenth Five Year Plan. Funds for the railway projects are allocated on year to year basis. A target of 1,000 kilometre of gauge conversion has been fixed for completion during the year 2004-2005 for which Rs. 790.28 crores has been allocated.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri R. Velu in a written reply to a question from Shri Sushil Kumar Modi and two other Members in the Lok Sabha today.
