Seminar on Food Processing potential in Jharkhand
New Delhi: July 14, 2004

A two-day seminar entitled "Potential for Food Processing Industries in Jharkhand" is being organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries from 16th July 2004 at Ranchi. The Seminar will be inaugurated by the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries (Independent Charge) Shri Subodh Kant Sahai. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand and various senior central and state officers will take part.

Besides, presenting an overview of Indian and global trend, in the Food Processing Industry, the Seminar will focus on opportunities for food processing in agriculture, horticulture, dairy and poultry sectors in Jharkhand. It will also focus on available technologies and systems and emerging trends in food processing and packaging. The departments of agriculture and industry of Jharkhand state, Birsa Agriculture University, Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and several private companies including multinationals connected with food processing industry will participate in the seminar.
