Cost Inflation Index for Financial Year 2004-05
New Delhi: July 14, 2004

The Central Board of Direct Taxes has issued Notification S.O. No. 742(E) specifying the Cost Inflation Index for the Year 2004-05 as 480. The Notification is available on the website of the Ministry of Finance at www.finmin.nic.in and also on the website of the Income-tax Department at www.incometaxindia.gov.in. The Cost Inflation Index starting from Financial Year 1980-81 are as under:
