The President is pleased to appoint Shri T.S.Krishnamurthy, Election Commissioner as Chief Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India. Shri Krishnamurthy will assume the charge of the post of Chief Election Commissioner with effect from February 8, 2004 consequent upon Shri J.M.Lyngdoh demitting the Office of the Chief Election Commissioner after attaining the age of sixty-five years on 7.2.2004.
