Food parks in the country
New Delhi: August 16, 2004

The Government has sanctioned 45 food parks across the country. Food parks are set up with financial assistance from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The quantum is 25 per cent for general areas and 33.33 per cent for difficult areas. The maximum amount of assistance is Rs.4 crore.

The Minister for Food Processing Industries, Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, stated this in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today. He informed the House that the assessment report on the progress of ten food parks prepared by the Enrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad, has since been received by his Ministry. Shri Sahay gave the following break up of the food parks approved by his Ministry:
