Sify announces it’s 2nd Online Pool Championships
iWay Pool Blast offers a chance to play against the best
Hyderabad: September 10, 2003

iWay, India’s largest, state-of-the-art cybercafe chain from Sify Limited, India’s premier Internet, Networking and eCommerce services company flagged off it’s second annual online pool tournament- the ‘iWay Pool Blast’.. The tournament hits 7 cities Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh starting September 8.

The iWay Pool Blast is endorsed by 7 times World Billiards champion Geet Sethi, who will be at select iWays where participants can meet him & get a chance to challenge him online! He will also give away the prizes to the winners of the tournament. The grand prize for the winner is a Home Theatre System and a Cue autographed by Geet Sethi for the National Winner. City Winners will get MP3/VCD/CD Discman, and the Winners of The Geet Sethi Challenge will get iWay T-Shirts, Caps and a congratulatory letter from Geet Sethi.

The tournament is open to all iWay Members only, with a single time registration fee of Rs 10 for playing the game which has been formatted into three rounds - The Preliminary Round where players will be free to play with anyone they want and as many times as they want to. The Knockout Round where 16-players from every city will be selected, and The Final Round where one winner from each city will emerge. The Finalists will play best of 5 matches against each other. The finalist with top scores will emerge as the winner.

The Schedule for the tournament is as follows Prelims: 8th September - October 8th, Knock Out Round October 12th Onwards and Finals will be held on October 19th, 2003.
