The Government launched the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) on 25th September 2001 and the Scheme is in operation throughout the country.

The Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) was launched to provide additional wage employment and food security to the rural poor through creation of need based infrastructure in the rural areas. The Scheme is being implemented through the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
