Rajya Sabha: Concession against vacant seat to senior citizens
New Delhi: May 8, 2003

The senior citizen concession is granted, in Mail/Express fares of all classes including unreserved classes and fares of Rajdhani/ Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi trains, at the booking/reservation counters only.

The facility is available only at the booking/reservation counters.

As a matter of policy, all concessions are granted at booking/reservation counters only and no concession is granted in train.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya in a written reply to a question from Shri Jhumuk Lal Bhendia in the Rajya Sabha today.
