There are persistent demands for restoration of Haibargaon-Mairabari and Senchoa-Silghat Metre Gauge rail lines with Broad Gauge in the North Eastern Region. The steps are being taken for restoration of these lines.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya in a written reply to a question from Shri Drupad Borgohain in the Rajya Sabha today.
