New Delhi: 18th June, 2003

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad has condoled the death of veteran film actor Jankidas Mehra who passed away in Mumbai this morning. In his message, Shri Prasad said that Shri Mehra who acted in more than 1000 films since the silent era, was a versatile actor of his time. His great contribution in the development of Indian cinema will be remembered for long, the Minister said.
