President Inaugurates Conference in USA through Video Conferencing
New Delhi: July 5, 2003

The President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam today inaugurated the annual convention of the Federations of North American Tamils held at New Jersey, USA through a Video Conference at 0530 A.M. IST (corresponding to 2000 hrs of 4th July 2003 U.S. time)

On this occasion the President also inaugurated the translation into Tamil of the famous Professor David Goldstein's 52 part Physics lecture series on 'Mechanical Universe and beyond'

About 2000 delegates participated in the conference held at New Jersey. There was an interactive session with the President at the end of his address. The President stressed the importance of Indian Philosophy in arriving at a unified theory for understanding the mystery of the Universe. The President exhorted the Indian community to work for providing Urban facilities in rural areas in India so that the poverty in the Country is eradicated which will lead to prosperity and overall development of the Country. The President also greeted the Conference on the occasion of American Independence Day.
