Revision of Prices of Bulk Drugs Betamethasone & its Derivatives & IBUPROFEN
New Delhi: July 28, 2003

National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the prices of bulk drugs Betamethasone & its derivatives and Ibuprofen. These prices have been revised from Rs.224/gm to Rs.230/gm for Betamethasone Alcohol, from Rs.212/gm to Rs.219/gm for Betamethasone Valerate, from Rs. 185/gm to Rs. 183/gm for Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate and from Rs. 346/kg to Rs. 391/kg. for Ibuprofen. These prices have been revised under the provisions of DPCO, 1995 after conducting the detailed cost price study of M/s GlaxoSmithkline for Betamethasone & its derivatives and M/s Shusun and M/s Dr. Reddy's Labs. for Ibuprofen.

The revised notified prices shall become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette. All the manufacturers of the formulations utilizing the drug in their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions of DPCO, 1995 with regard to pricing of the derivative formulations.
