Vizag Steel wins Scope Award For Excellence
New Delhi: January 21, 2003 Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) of the Rashtriya Inspat Nigam Limited (RINL) of the Steel Ministry has been adjudged the best public sector enterprise for the year 2000-01 and has won the silver trophy of "Scope award for excellence and outstanding contribution to the public sector management - Special turnaround category". Scope awards have been conceptualized and instituted to recognise the contribution of the public enterprises and to encourage outstanding persons for their hard work and leadership qualities. The parameters on which the companies are evaluated for institutional category of awards include business results, leadership, policy and strategy, customer value management, new product development, operations management, human resource management, human capital development, corporate social responsibility and corporate image.
