DR. RANGARAJAN ASSUMES CHARGE AS CHAIRMAN, 12TH FINANCE COMMISSION
New Delhi: January 3, 2003 Dr. C. Rangarajan, who demitted the office of Governor of Andhra Pradesh this morning, assumed the charge of Chairman, Twelfth Finance Commission later in the day. The Commission, which has been set up under Article 280 of the Constitution of India is required to submit its recommendations regarding devolution of funds between the Central and the State Governments by 31st July, 2004.
