Fourth Railway Bridge on Brahmaputra
New Delhi: August 6, 2003

The Railways have provided Rs. 60 crores for the fourth bridge at Bogibeel on river Brahmaputra in the North East during the current financial year 2003-2004.

The mega Bogibeel bridge is one of the four such bridges taken up in the country under the National Rail Vikas Yojana.

The final location survey has been completed for the Bogibeel bridge. Land acquisition and supply of boulders have been taken up. The work of approach road to the bridge site on both North and South banks is in advance stage of completion. Besides, earthwork, minor and major bridges for railway embankment have been taken up wherever land has been made available by the State Government.
